Planning Poker can be played during the sprint planning for estimating User Story-points. During sprint planning after setting the sprint goal, the Scrum team can use Agilibo's Planning Poker to estimate User Stories and calculate how many story points are committed throughout the sprint, and how much of it is achievable.

Manage and Join Your Planning Poker Sessions

Upon launching the app, users will land on the Planning Poker Sessions dashboard. This page displays a complete list of all session rooms, including their privacy status, event IDs, session status, scheduled start time, and duration. 

  • To create a new session, simply click on the "Create PlanningPoker Session" button in the top-right corner. 

  • Users can search for a specific room using the search bar at the top of the session list. 

  • To participate in any session, click the “Join” button next to the corresponding session. 

  • Additional session details can be accessed via the “Details” button. 

This intuitive interface makes it easy to manage, join, or review Planning Poker sessions efficiently.

Set Up Open or Secure Planning Sessions in Just a Few Clicks

When the user clicks on the “Create PlanningPoker Session” button, a pop-up window appears prompting session setup. 

  • The Full Name field is auto-filled with the user's name fetched from Microsoft Teams. 

  • After reviewing the information, the user can click “Continue” to join the session with their name. 

There are two types of sessions based on password protection settings: 

1. Open Session: 

  • Password Protection: Disabled  

  • Anyone with access to the session list can join without entering a password. 

2. Secure Session: 

  • Password Protection: Enabled 

  • A password field is displayed. This password must be shared with others who wish to join. 

  • The system also provides a “Copy Link” and “Generate” option to easily share the session with invited participants. 

This setup ensures flexibility between open collaboration and secure, invite-only planning.

Easily View, Join, and Share Planning Sessions with Secure Controls

When a user clicks the “Join” or “Details” button on a session, the event details expand within the dashboard view. 

  • Participant Info: The user's name is shown and can be edited before joining.   

  • Join Session: Users can enter the session by clicking the “Join” button, depending on whether the session is open or password-protected. 

  • Session ID and Duration: Each session displays a unique ID and its set duration. 

  • Delete Option: The session creator has the option to delete the session using the “Delete” button. If the session is password protected, the correct password will be required to confirm deletion. 

  • Invite Options: 

             - Copy Link: Easily copy the session link to 

                share with others. 

             - QR Code: Scan or share the automatically 

                generated QR code to provide quick access                    to the session.   

This section allows users to manage participation seamlessly and distribute access securely.

Once a user joins a session, they are directed to the Planning Poker session interface, where the estimation process begins. 

 

Session Layout : 

  • Participants Panel (Right Side): Displays all members currently in the session.

  • Issue Field (Top Center): Users can edit and enter the item or issue they wish the team to vote on. 

  • Card Deck (Bottom Center): A range of estimation cards is available for selection. 

  • Timer Controls (Right Panel): Event Timer and Current Timer can be set individually. 

  • A buzzer button is available to alert or notify participants when needed. 

Voting & Estimation Summary : 

  • Once members select a card, their estimates are displayed in the central area of the screen. 

  • Vote Results are summarized visually for the team to review. 

  • If needed, users can click “Re-estimate” to start a new round of voting on the same issue. 

This interactive interface ensures clarity, encourages collaboration, and helps agile teams reach consensus efficiently during sprint planning. 

Seamless Guest Access via Shared Session Links

When a session link is shared, users can join the session directly as guests through that link. 

  • The guest user is prompted to enter their full name on the screen shown in the image. 

  • Once the name is provided, clicking the “Join” button grants them access to the Planning Poker session. 

This streamlined guest entry process makes it easy for external participants or new team members to join without prior setup.

In the Team Settings, you can fully customize the estimation card layouts and values to match your team's workflow. Choose from popular formats like the Fibonacci sequence, T-shirt sizes, or create your own custom scale.
